01 What is the difference between sound absorption and soundproofing? +
Sound absorption controls echo and reverberation INSIDE a room using porous materials like fabric, PET, foam, or wood panels. Soundproofing BLOCKS sound from transmitting between spaces using dense barriers like Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) or mass-loaded walls. Most projects need both.
02 What are NRC and STC, and which one do I need? +
NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) measures how much sound a material absorbs — higher is better, ranging 0.0–1.0. STC (Sound Transmission Class) measures how well a wall blocks airborne sound — higher is better, typical office walls are STC 35–45. Use NRC for absorption products, STC for soundproofing systems.
03 How do you measure room acoustics on-site? +
We use calibrated SPL meters and impulse-response measurements to calculate RT60 (reverberation time), background noise levels (NC/NR), and identify problem frequencies. Send us room photos, dimensions, and ceiling height via WhatsApp and our acoustic team prepares a recommendation.
04 Do you supply and install across Saudi Arabia? +
Yes. Yamamah Smart supplies and installs acoustic systems for projects in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Khobar, Mecca, Madinah, Abha, and all other Saudi cities. We coordinate with contractors and interior designers for site delivery and turnkey installation.
05 How long does a typical acoustic project take? +
Site analysis and technical proposal: 2–5 working days. Product manufacturing/sourcing: 1–4 weeks depending on customization. Installation: 2–10 days depending on room size. Most office/meeting-room projects deliver in 3–6 weeks end-to-end.
06 Can I get custom colors, sizes, and shapes? +
Yes. Our fabric panels come in 100+ fabric colors and textures. PET panels offer 67 YAMSIS colors, 50+ patterns, and 40 sculptural 3D shapes. Wood systems can be custom-veneered (oak, walnut, ash). Baffles and clouds are made to any shape and size on request.
